So, I’ve either made
the greatest decision of my life or the stupidest. Either way, I’ve upped my chances to go to
the ACL Festival this fall! I’m gonna
try not to be a killjoy and be optimistic about this all. This will be my first music festival, so I
can only hope I chose the best one to introduce me into the madness! The lineup is amazing, so it really makes up
for everything. Plus, I love Texas, so
it’saalll good!
My friend Megan and I
just had dinner together and were so bummed out about life that we encouraged
each other to be optimistic and do what we want. So, I’m on a natural high of having uplifting
friends so yeah, maybe I’m not thinking straight.
But, let’s move along.
My blog is currently under
construction. My good friend Lauren who
is super tech savvy and has an eye for all things that look good is helping me
make this all nice and purrrty. We spent
a few hours at my house trying out different looks and I’m so excited to see
how it will turn out!
Also, I’ve been having
really bad luck with cosmetics lately.
About a month ago, I bought a new tube of mascara. It’s not a brand I’m new too, I’ve used their stuff before and it's worked. Plus, a lot of people and even magazines recommend this brand. I have the depressing misfortune of having
short eyelashes, so I’m gonna need all the help I can get with mascara. I love having dark and full eyelashes that
stick out because I don’t wear that much makeup to begin with and having noticeable
lashes makes up for everything.
Anyway, I used this
mascara that advertised its darkness and greatness and after a couple of hours of
wearing it, my eyes were so itchy. I
thought something might have flown in my eye because it was windy that day, so I didn't really think anything of it. Until, the
next morning I woke up with super puffy and swollen eyes! It looked just like a stye, so I thought that
was it, but later that I week I learned that it wasn't.
I looked so strange, I had my hair have a deep side part for about two weeks until my eyes went back to
normal. I also remained indoors and avoided
cameras. Every time I tell this story,
everyone always asks if they can see a picture of what I looked like.
Um, no.
But, this was pretty close
Sorry, I know, I keep
referring to different characters, but it’s sadly the best way I can explain it. I got my wisdom teeth taken out during the
first week of the semester and had the mascara incident during the last week of
school.
Basically, I started
out the semester looking like Quagmire and ended it looking like
Quasimodo.
Next cosmetic scare was
my hair products. After being a
long-time user of Paul Mitchell’s Super Skinny Serum, I decided it was time to
try new things. My sister used a serum
that she said was good, so I tried it.
It was okay, but it got the job done and I did not have the funds to get
another one. I only had to use the bottle halfway.
During the whole time I
used it, my ears started to itch and I started to develop this white spot on my
forehead. Once again, I thought nothing
of it. Why? Because I count on these products too much to
blame them. Anyway, I've stopped using
the serum and have had no itchy, red ears and the white spot on my head is
starting to go away!
Moral of the story: Don’t
buy cheap cosmetics.
Seriously.
Okay, well, unless you’re
me and have the greatest luck in the world…don’t buy cheap cosmetics.
