The Neverending Breakup Playlist

9/5/14

It's apparently breakup season and as much as stacking on pounds with tubs of ice cream and packs of chocolate or looping your rainy day playlist as you lie in bed covered in tissues and tears sounds so good, you might be overlooking the best part.

How could there possibly be a "best part" to a breakup, you ask?

Well sure, you may have just lost an important person in your life, but don't just count your losses--think about all that you have gained and be grateful for it!
...even if it included a few lbs, all the more love to spread around :)

And don't forget, a new insight, a peace of mind, the ability to know better the next time someone comes around (and I promise, they will!)

Alright, now let's get to this best part:

THE BREAKUP PLAYLIST

If you are spending the majority of your breakup period sitting at home, binging on ice-cream and watching Netflix or sitting in the dark and crying on the phone for hours on end to anyone who will listen--you're doing it so, sooo wrong.

Ok, ok, you're only doing it half-wrong (or half-right if you please).

I say this because the temporary cure is binging on Netflix (I watched all seasons of "Vampire Diaries" in a month), but one, you are just avoiding dealing with it completely.

You. Have. To. Go. Through. The. Motions.

And you'll hate me for saying that because I know it hurts, but it's part of the process. You have to die a little to resurrect yourself.

And that's where music comes in. Whether you're having an angry person f-you moment or down in the dumpiest of dumps because you've been dumped day--you're going through it. And you'll have your worst days, best days and moment of weakness days when you might even see this person again, but you'll keep learning and it'll get so much easier, and you'll hear "Clairvoyant" by The Story So Far and you'll feel how far you've come.

By this time, you'll have marked that Big Sean song as your song for the next few months.

So here's my playlist of breakup songs that seems to get larger and larger as new music is continuously created.
