Bonjour! Comment allez-vous? Comme çi, Comme ça! J'aime faire des siestes. Ma sœur est jolie et intelligente. Je n'ai pas envie êtudier ce soir. Je chante mal. La vie en rose. C'est la vie (la vie).
Annnnnndd...that's about all I can do to show off my French skillzzz.
But, this is my blog.
C'est mon blog.
If you have not seen any videos by La Blogotheque on YouTube, then I am proud to introduce you to it! La Blogotheque is this French blog that showcases different bands and their own special sessions/recordings with them. What's so cool about them is that they come up with different and creative ways on how to perform a song. The best part? They get the whole thing on video and you can watch them all on YouTube. They are probably most famous for their series of "Take Away Shows," and it's well deserved because those are some of my favorites.
One of the first videos I've ever seen on La Blogotheque was Phoenix's Take Away Show. I was already obsessed with this song, so watching this version made little 16-year-old me go absolutely crazy! Also, how lucky are those newlyweds to witness such an awesome thing on their wedding day!? Very.
Alright, alright if you haven't heard of Bon Iver....first of all, WHY?! Second of all, if you haven't seen them in concert...GO! Honestly, when I saw them play live, it pretty much made up for the fact that I was dying from wearing heels that night. (It's something you have to consider doing when you're a tiny little creature like me) ((All Tiny Creatures opened up for them)). Anyway, I love "Skinny Love" just as much as the next person, but "For Emma, Forever Ago" is my all-time favorite. And this Take Away Show is just too good. From singing in the lobby of an apartment building to serenading people out on the streets, I wish I could have been there. But, their "Skinny Love" Take Away Show is still just as good. Not to mention, the Jason Segel doppelgänger jammin' out to it makes it so much more entertaining.
Local Natives. If you haven't already heard me rave about them, they are crazy talented and absolutely incredible. I owe it all to my cousin Joe for introducing them to me and La Blogotheque for making me fall in love with this song. I swear, if you don't watch any of the ones above then at least watch this one. The first time I ever watched this--holy shiz, I was completely mind-blown. Okay, watch how into the music Taylor gets. And then the way he holds on to that note for dear life when he sings "NoooooOooooOoooo" at 5:07. Not to mention, the rest of the guys just straight kill it from start to finish. I just love this. So. Much.
La Blogotheque are always working with bands and going around the world and making history and making people fall in love, so I recommend you subscribe to them and follow them on every social media outlet.
Merci!
