Now, I know I just started this blog, so there are a lot of things ya'll don't know about me. Well, for one, I just said "ya'll" and I'm from the West Coast.
Secondly, my two favorite things to do during the summer is write and watch Gidget, endlessly.
I grew up watching Turner Classic Movies (TCM) on T.V., so coming across Gidget was inevitable. This is the perfect summer movie and if you love surfing, cheesy teen romance story lines, and most importantly, the 1950s--you'll enjoy this movie. Throughout the month of July, TCM has been showing the Gidget movies and this Sunday, the program will show the last of the trilogy, Gidget Goes to Rome.
The other two movies are cute, but nothing compares to the original!
Honest to goodness, it's the absolute ultimate!!
This went from book to movies and eventually to a television show, starring the lovely Sally Field. But Gidget is definitely one of my favorite surf movies...that and maybe Rip Girls...and then there's The Endless Summer.
It's also a big weekend for surfers right now! VANS US Open of Surfing starts tomorrow, so Huntington Beach will be popppin! Ch-ch-check it all out, here!
